Britania Mountain Fire 77% contained

A lighting caused wildfire burning approximately 6 miles from the Wyoming community of Wheatland, is 77% contained, according to an update Tuesday morning

According to a statement released by Rocky Mountain Incident Management Team Black, the Britania Fire has burned approximately 32,089 acres, as of September 4th.

The statement goes onto say that Wheatland Rural Electric Association has recharged their power distribution line serving the area. Power to residences outside the fire perimeter has been restored. Residences within the fire perimeter remain without power as the power company continues to inspect lines.

Mandatory evacuations remain in effect for residences north of Palmer Canyon Road in Platte County, west of the Laramie River to the Albany County line. Evacuations are also in place for Albany County residents from the Platte County line to Cottonwood Road.

Palmer Canyon Road remains closed in the fire area in both Platte County and Albany Counties.

At last report, over 500 personnel from all around the United States are assisting with the blaze.
