Casper has done it again! Mercer Family Resource Center would like to thank our generous community in helping to raise $160,000 at the Dancing with the Stars of Casper 2018 – At the Movies. This annual fundraiser benefits agency programs for youth and families that are proactive, impactful, and accessible to anyone in the community!
“Wait a minute, wait a minute…You ain’t heard nothin’ yet!” The evening was filled with the magic of the movies, featuring cinematic performances and blockbuster hits! And the awards go to:
Mayor Ray Pacheco & Joy Gallup took home the People’s Choice Award (raising $8,057 of the $22,976) and the Excellence in Showmanship award; featuring The Greatest Showman.
Sloan Dickey & Liz Norcross took home the Judge’s Choice award; featuring Footloose.
Susan Burk & Aaron Wood took home the Excellence in Technique award; featuring Casa Blanca, Saturday Night Fever, Let’s All Go To The Movies, and Young Frankenstein.
Stephanie Hambrick & Chad Nelson took home the Outstanding Theme & Creativity award; featuring Men In Black.
Mallory Pollock & Beth Jozwik took home the Best Partner Connection award; featuring Moulin Rouge!
Larry Wilson & Mary Facciani took home the best Crowd Appeal award; featuring Rocky and Magic Mike.
There were witty comments from a panel of judges that included Kevin Hawley, Sean Ingledew, Clint Saunders, Tonya Willadson, JoAnn True and Christina Reed. In addition to these performances, the crowd was wooed by a grand opening with Dance Evolutions, Inc. featuring Mama Mia and a grand finale that included an aerial hoop and flames, presented by Betsy Bower and Gabe Phillips featuring Kill Bill.
Thank you so much to the dancers, choreographers and sponsors for joining Mercer Family Resource Center in our vision of a unified community with strong families and healthy youth. The monies raised will go towards program and operating costs, so that Mercer FRC can continue to provide quality services to those who need it most. Mercer FRC provides family and parenting education, adult and youth intervention, and community connections! Through direct services, Mercer FRC staff will serve 3,000 families this year, and reach an additional 80% of the population through prevention awareness presentations, outreach, and family activities.
