Wyoming’s senators will be returning to committee chair positions they’ve held previously.
U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., today was elected again by his colleagues as Chairman of the Senate Budget Committee.
Enzi will also continue to serve as a member of the Finance Committee; Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee; and Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee.
“I am honored to return as chair of the Senate Budget Committee as we focus on addressing the debt and overspending challenges facing our country,” Enzi said. “I will continue to lead the charge to fix the broken budget and spending process and focus on oversight efforts to improve the transparency and efficiency of the federal government. And as a member of several other key committees, I am also ready to continue our work on important issues for Wyoming, such as health care, trade, homeland security, government oversight and more.”
Wyoming’s Junior Senator, John Barrasso, R-Wyo., will also continue in his position serving as chairman of Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works.
In a tweet Wednesday afternoon, Barrasso said he was honored to continue in the position, and said that he felt past efforts from the committee had been successful.
Honored to continue serving as chairman of Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works. Last Congress, we passed major bipartisan laws to upgrade America’s water infrastructure and modernize our nuclear energy sector. Looking forward to building on that success. https://t.co/5beCOWesTN
