Oil City is on the scene of an emergency response including armed police presence in the area of the 1600 block of South Jefferson in Casper.
Casper Police Department Segeant Mike Ogden said that emegency crews were called out Thursday evening for a reported gunfight. However, upon arrival, Ogden said it had only been a fistfight.
Residents in the area gathered on sidewalks during the initial response. Patrols of officers and K9 units were seen patrolling the area on foot.
Some officers were seen carrying rifles.
South Jefferson Street was blocked off from 16th to 17th Street briefly. The street has since reopened, and emergency crews were dispersing at approximately 6:20 pm.
