A man who was wanted on a charge of Escape From Official Detention, after walking away from a Casper work release program, has been captured in Lander.
According to NCSO Sergeant Aaron Shatto, Cody Mikkle Schlosser failed to return to the Casper Re-Entry Center on January 3rd, after being scheduled for work. Sheriff’s officials say that Schlosser checked out for his job, but failed to return.
Schlosser was originally sentenced out of Fremont County for Sexual Assault and Kidnapping charges.
A written statement from the Lander Police Department confirms that Schlosser was arrested in the Lander area on January 10th.
The statement says that the arrest took place at approximately 1:30 pm, Thursday. Lander police report that they received a tip that Schlosser had bee seen in the Lander area.
Lander police report that they along with the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call, and located the subject in a trailer where he was arrested and transported to the Fremont County Detention Center without further reported incident.
All of those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filings from the Natrona County District Attorney’s Office.
