A woman is facing felony and misdemeanor drug charges as part of an investigation that is connected to the arrests of multiple other people last year. This, according to court documents filed in Natrona County Circuit Court.
According to records, 40-year-old Misty Jean Kosta was arrested and charged with one county of Conspiracy to Deliver Methamphetamine and one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
An affidavit from the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation says that Kosta’s arrest comes from an investigation that was begun approximately May of 2018. DCI says that agents began investigating an ongoing conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine in the Casper and Natrona County areas.
The affidavit specifically cites the arrest of multiple individuals in September of 2018.
The affidavit in the case says that through information obtained by a search of Facebook content; including personal messages, as well as information from criminal informants; helped lead to the arrest of Kostas on the charges.
Agents note that Kostas had been known from previous contacts, to redistribute methamphetamine.
During a law enforcement contact on September 19th, Kosta was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine as well as syringes.
The affidavit further describes an interview with a known, but unnamed, confidential source. Agents say the source had obtained methamphetamine from Kosta, on “several occasions.” The affidavit says the confidential source said that Kosta would often front the methamphetamine to the source, and money was expected at a later time.
Kosta made her appearance in Natrona County Circuit Court this week to hear the charges against her. She also faces an additional charge of Failure to Appear.
All of those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filings from the Natrona County District Attorney’s Office.
