A 31-year-old Casper woman faces recommended charges of Child Endangering, Driving While Under the Influence, and having an Open Container in her Vehicle, according to Casper Police.
An arrest affidavit for Casper resident Ocie Trammel, says that officers identified Trammel as the driver of a black Dodge Ram that was observed near CY Avenue and 13th Street, approximately 3:20 am, Wednesday October 11th. Officers say that hey observed the vehicle to be traveling at 45 mph in a 30 mph zone.
Police say they followed the vehicle, and at one point the Dodge Ram was believed to be going 50 mph in a 30 mph zone, and 37 mph in a 20 mph zone before officers were able to pull the vehicle over.
Officers made the stop near the intersection of Midwest and Center streets, and contacted Trammel. Police say they observed an infant child in the back seat of the car, and a bottle of tequila protruding from a purse located in the front passenger seat of the vehicle.
In arrest paperwork, police say that Trammel said she had consumed a few shots from the bottle and that her last drink had been sometime between 11:00 pm and 11:30 pm, October 10th. Trammel was described by officers as having a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on hear breath, as well as bloodshot eyes.
Due to inclement weather, a field sobriety test was conducted at a nearby parking garage. Based on the field test and a breath sample provided to officers, Trammel was arrested and booked into the Natrona County Detention Center.
The juvenile in the car was taken into safe custody.
All of those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filings from the Natrona County District Attorney’s Office.
